Hi, my 93 900s can not be diagnosed and I was wondering if anybody else here has had a similar experience. I had to have my motor replaced recently when in the course of trying to figure out why my car was not running right I discovered whomever last replaced the harmonic balancer had not properly torqued the bolt. The pulley was able to wobble and the pulley eventually ruined the (woodruff?) key on the crank. Because the pulley was moving around on the crank, the CKP sensor was not aligning properly with the aperture disk and the car was running poorly as a result. It was cheaper to replace the motor (than re-haul crank shaft) and I had it done by a reputable Saab indy that offered a warranty and everything on a 1992 2.1 with 90K from a wrecked convertible. Anyway, about 1 month later after running flawlessly, the car started stalling but would start right back up. Then it stranded me in traffic and did not start and had to be towed. I took it to a different local saab indy because he was closer than the guys who replaced the engine. I had initially suspected the fuel pump, but the tech could not determine the cause of the stalling. He checked fuel pressure and it was good, checked all grounds and contacts in ignition and told me he was leaning towards the crank position sensor. So, I had it towed the 60 miles to the shop where the motor was replaced and of course the car is starting for them. Talking to the tech on the phone this morning he told me it could be the EZK module, the fuel pump, or the crank sensor but was waiting for it to die on him and did not want to start throwing parts at it. Prior to replacing the engine I had replaced the cap, rotor, wires, battery and plugs which all was transfered to the donor motor. As I am waiting for the shop to call me with some news, has anybody else experienced anything like this with a similar vintage 900? Any and all comments are appreciated as I am running out of patience and money, thanks.
