Oily sludge in TB

So... I was driving my new to me '91 SPG (137K kms) down the highway yesterday, cruising along at about 160 when it suddenly lost power and stalled. I pull over to check it out and the intake hose had come off of the throttle body. No big deal, I put it back on and tightened the clamp up and it runs fine again, but inside the TB and the intake hose there was an oily sludge. I can't figure out where this is coming from, or if should be concerned. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for your help.
