Hi Wayner,
Actually, I bought the car in New Hampshire though it had only spent one winter there (owner had moved from Florida) and I took it down to Texas where I was going to school, then to Phoenix, and finally to San Jose where I now reside.
In truth, there was some minor surface rust in the engine bay that I noticed after removing everything right before I had the bay painted. I was able to sand this down in less than 20-minutes, however. Also, I had to have the floorboard right above the catalytic converter patched because it had rusted through. This was due, so I am told, by the previous owner not having replaced the main catalytic converter heat shield. The heat apparently comprised the metal.
