i think its in the death spiral...
the coolant thing should be changed for good measure, but that usually simply causes a slightly higher idle than normal- wont cause swinging idle.

can you swap in a known good AMM? dont use an LH 2.2 or you'll fry it.

dont think hooter valve or shot vacuum advance could cause your symptoms, nor (leaking) brake booster.

Never skiied Whistler, just hills around Banff and into BC and south in Fernie BC. Whistler will be busy in 5 years, tho (2010 Olympics) so book now!!! ha ha
