It's not the bolt pattern I want changed, it's the offset. Saabs really want ~30mm offsets, which is very uncommon and grows more uncommon as time goes on. I'm trying to find a safe, functional solution to adjust common 40-45mm offset wheels to something a Saab can use. Using shim-type spacers can net a safe 5mm-7mm, but after that you start losing your hub surface, and wheels become non-hub-centric because there is no hub to center on. That isn't a good deal.

I'm looking at a company that makes spacers that bolt to the hub, then provide new studs for mounting the wheel. They make these spacers for a wide variety of predominantly RWD Japanese cars, which have the exact same problems that Saab do - they want low offsets, and all the wheels out there have large ones. These are road/track safe devices - not "show only" parts like Speedparts was selling to put 5-bolt wheels on c900s...

Like I said, I'm not really interested in changing the bolt pattern, but using these spacers it would be possible. Switching to a 4x114.3 (like older Saabs) or 4x100 would open up a huge variety of wheel choices. Additionally, later 900s and 9000s use uncommon 14mm bolts, which also limits wheel choices since most wheels are drilled for 12mm, or best case 1/2" studs/bolts. The spacer/adapter would allow an easy, safe switch to the smaller stud size...

That's unlimited choices in wheels, really, which is my goal. Sticking with the 15" and rare 16" wheels that Saab offered is really not useful, and custom wheels, or made-to-order wheels (Team Dynamics, et al) are really too expensive for what they are IMHO...
