Went for about a 60 mile drive today on a well maintained, well designed road. The kind the 900 loves - banked curves, pastoral view, two lane.
Unusual for me to to get out on the road.

Headed up to Se*rs to get a tool box (Standard Truck Box - cheap and fits in the spare compartment.)
So, it's birthday drive and presents for myself, basically.

Car's running great, music's a perfect choice for the day, and I get to part of the road I really like and decide to really open up and spin up the turbo for a 40 to 75 run.

So I am doing great and coming out of this curve and up a rise - max boost --
poof - loss of boost, power, I keep going with rough running, crest the hill at about 50 - speed limit's 55.

I have already diagnosed the problem in my head - vac hose, right.
I manage to coast right into this highway lot next to the all the
state patrol speed trap guys.

Blew the grommet out of the intake manifold -
AND I have a new one on hand,
so I am in and out in about two minutes with a wave to the guy who would have been giving me a ticket for 75+ if it hadn't blown. (I've never gotten a speeding ticket...???)

Get my tool box for $9, and find a 17 pc 1/2 drive set (metrics w 5 deeps, 10 regs) marked down from $50 to $18 - snap. Couple of other little scores and I've given myself a good birthday present.

So I had a great drive, the minor breakdown had an upside, and I went hog wild on myself without spending a lot of money (I'm cheap that way).

Buck, after a beautiful day to spin it out.

Felt good to just get out and drive - been awhile. Gotta do it more often.
