I've been in the market for a pristine (almost show-car quality) C900 for quite awhile now. I've had a 1987 900S and a 1990 900 Turbo...and I absolutely LOVED both of them. I've recently come across a 1985 900 SPG in mint condition, no cracks in dash, with Carlsson bumpers. I am aware of the wiring harness issues with this particular year, but is there anything else I need to look for specifically? I did a lot of work to both my 1987 and 1990 C900, so I do know the usual items of concern, but there were a few changes from 1985 to 1987.

Also, what would be the value on a showroom-quality 1985 900 SPG? I have very few details about the car right now, but we'll assume it has about 150,000 miles on it. I just don't want to take the plunge and have something come up and surprise me just because the 1987+ 900 didn't have "that" problem.

How does a 1985 SPG compare to a 1990 Turbo in terms of performance, handling, etc. I've read about all of the changes (turbocharger make, supsension, etc.) between the years, but don't have any hands-on experience in comparing them. I also see that parts availability is a bit more limited for a pre-1987 900...has that been an issue with anybody on here?

Any additional feedback, comments, and/or concerns are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for the information. Drive safely and KEEP ON SAABING!!!
