Similar to the question below.

It all depends on the love for the vehicle.

Aside from the air bag, the old 900 does have roll protection. The front windshield pillars were stiffened: the sides of the floor, and also the rear are reinforced. Yet how safe is any convertible really-especially if the car were to flip??

I recall a story of a guy I met, flipping his car(not a Saab) and the car slid on its roof: yet unfortunately, the sunroof was open, yet fortunately he had his seat belt on- and the result was him sliding out a bit, and his head going for the ride slightly out the sunroof.

Further:

Air bags aside- Saabs are already strong vehicles- that is if rust did not attack to compromise the structure.

With all these Saab nuts, most are bound to lean on restoring the classic.
