Well it may be an issue with the time delay relay. i know Townsend has an article on some mods or upgrades concerning that.the fan works when you put a screwdriver to the terminals on the rad thermal switch.no fuses blown. the lower rad hose would never get hot know matter how long I drove the car and this is with a new aluminum rad. I assumed the thermostat wasn't opening so I installed a new 89 degree rad switch and thermostat and bled the system. a fast run on the highway and the engine was very hot as if the coolant wasn't circulating...extreme heat coming from the heater because I figure the heater core was taking over the cooling since the rad wasn't. I had the fan running off the toggle. I swapped in an 82 rad switch and thermostat but no matter how long the car idles the coolant dosn't seem to be circulating? I even installed a new water pump thinking that the old one might have failed..I've disconnected the heater as described earlier. I'm wondering if this new rad is blocked!!! What is the purpose of the hose that branches off the heater hose and goes to the throttle? if that hose was blocked how would that affect the the throttle response? I'm running out of ideas with the whole cooling thing let alone the mystery smoke!
