Conventional electronic refrigerant detectors do not work with EnviroSafe, so it's going to have to be visual detection (dye, soapy water, look for oil residue). One way around this is to charge a small amount of conventional refrigerant into the system for the electronic detector, but no shop is going to do that. For that matter, there are very few shops that will touch a system that has anything but R12 or R134a inside.
EnviroSafe does sell a detector that they claim works with their refrigerant, but it really does not. (It "works" by reacting to the flow of air from a leak, not by actually detecting the gas. You'd need a pretty big leak for this to work! Confirmed by EnviroSafe tech support.)
