Heat cycle the darn thing and have a helper put pressure on the shifter. Are you pushing as if it is trying to go into 3rd gear?
So, just to review, it's the pin side that is stuck, so clamp it down, throw on the heat, and push.....
This is in an oily area ( usually ) so heating with an open flame requires some care -- rig a couple of slender soldering irons next to the frozen area and turn them on, and then smell the roses :-) Then, you wouldn't need a helper to push/pull.
Or, try to get a die grinder / dremel to make a slot in the side of the coupler, and pry it apart.....not much room to move down there though. I feel your pain. Don't melt the firewall boot for the shift rod.....but, I would replace the shift rod seal if your throw any flame at it. They are available, and also can be a PITA to get in and out. Might buy two in case something goes south....good luck.
