As the new owner of a vehicle with a lowered chassis, it is useful to remember that you now have reduced ground clearance. This leaves you at increased risk of damage as a result of road hazards.
In practical terms, this means any deviation from a smooth surface (freeway, well maintained surface streets) offers potential for mayhem. Potholes, drainage dips, speedbumps, none of these are your friend. Tender bits of the powerplant, as well as the exhaust system are within reach of a tall speedbump. Be careful when driving on dirt roads, particularly if they are rutted. Watch out for rocks and debris.
I chose to install a rally skidplate, for protection from city streets, as well as the occasional offroad run.
The SPG is a driver's car. Go drive it.
