Given that the wheel well limits the maximum tire size, thus limiting any clearance increase, I suggest that the installation of a proper rally skid plate would be the best solution to the problem of preventing contact between undercarriage and road.
I installed a rally skid plate on my '93 900 CE initially to cope with the factory lowered suspension and the hazards of speed bumps and drainage dips. However, it tasted "first blood", so to speak, on a dirt forest road in the Cascades of Oregon. While not exactly four wheeling , I regularly take this car off paved surfaces.
Good shocks are plus, I prefer Koni's. Also, make sure your suspension is up to the task.
You may want to consider carrying a full size spare on your back road outings. The stock compact spare is poorly suited to non-paved surfaces, particularly if used in the front.
Out of curiosity, where are going to be driving?
The C900 is a very capable vehicle on dirt surfaces, as demonstrated by their rally heritage. With a little common sense, the 900 will take you places you would never attempt in a Honda Accord.
