The gear changes work better for speed matching the rpm for quicker downshifting.
I like the aluminum flywheels - we're in the process of having them built along with the T5 aperatures. Not sure when the production starts but all the engineering is done, and it's a matter of figuring out the minimum order details, etc.
I'll not disagree with lightening an existing flywheel except that you need to have a decent shop do the job as there are places to remove material and then other areas that shouldn't be touched.
