Now that I'm using the 900 for a daily driver the starter has begun acting flaky. I inspected the starter on my parts car an lo and behold it looks all shiny and new.So this afternoon and evening I pulled the one from the parts car and installed it.
What looked to be a fairly straight forward job turned out to be somewhat tedious. Ended up removing the air intake box/MAF and eventually the throttle body to gain better access. Glad that I did too as the inside of the throttle body was pretty dirty. Cleaned it all up.
Starter power is night and day difference...must of been the original starter and was just worn out.
Engine now idles very high but seems to run better. Double checked for any vacuum leaks but found none. Finally decided to use the idle adjustment screw to back it down.
