You have one of these screwed onto the headlight lense half.
It's not likely it just popped out -- but more likely it broke and let go of the white nylon ball you're seeing.
When you mount the new clamp sleeve to the headlight, reusing the existing phillips head screw in the center, tighten just slightly. These plastic housings are very fragile. Then you will use both hands to press the two halves back together with some decent pressure.
It's much easier to remote the headlight assembly to do this. And you will be able to inspect the rest of the frame. You won't need to re-aim the headlight. In fact, trying to screw the adjusters at this age risks breaking another mount. The headlight assembly is not hard to remove. There is a screw that attaches the side marker assembly to the headlight assembly, there are two screws at the front-top of the headlight assembly, and there is a torx screw-on-a-bracket opposite the side marker assembly. The assembly then lifts up and out the front.
