I'm just taking a stab here but it sounds like either it's alternator bushings (or something related to the alternator) or the rubber part on the crankshaft pulley. One thing you could do if it's related to the pulley---remove it and have someone cut three slits across the two pieces. Then weld it together. I'm sure an exhaust/body guy could do that for you. Getting the pulley off is a challenge though--you need either 27 or 30 mm socket (depending on the year) and you need to cut it down in order for it to fit in there. Furthermore you have to hold the flywheel steady in order to break the bolt loose. Hope some of this helps.
