I'm with Saabu. If oil pressure and compression are good, you won't accomplish anything other than a lighter checkbook. Head Gasket and valve job if you are having a problem. Trans rebuild is another question. But, again, if it is OK now, why? Would be cool to pull the lump and clean up the compartment and repaint. That work always results in an awesome presentation whch is impossible otherwise. Do the clutch (if it needs it,) clean the block and head and refresh the accessory components like harmonic balancer, engine mounts, pulleys, alternator mount bushings, etc. Good luck!
