1. Yes. Be patient and work very slowly. The dumdum that seals the bottom of the plastic sheet to the inside of the door is a strong adhesive and, now that it's 30 some odd years old, has a strong grip. It's necessary to direct water that get is inside the door to the drains.
2. Good question. let us know what your experience is.
3. I use Superlube on window mechanism joints and lithium grease on the track on the bottom of the window.
4. You'll have to take the outside trim strip that holds the scraper off the door. (It helps to remove the window to get the best access.) Be very careful not to bend it. Once you get the trim strip off and remove the scraper, the clips are easily accessible. I use a Dremel with a grinding stone bit.
Once you get in there, you'll see that a lot of this will be fairly straightforward.
Take your time and be careful to not bend things.
