Congratulations, and best of luck. 1 year of sitting with stale gasoline isn't too bad, if it's really 1 year. I'd siphon a little bit to check it first. The best way to siphon is to disconnect the smaller hose to the tank from inside the trunk. If it's really bad you don't want to circulate it.
Sitting for so long the oil will have settled and you'll get clacking from the hydraulic lifters. Take it easy with revving.
Look for dry rot on the tires.
Don't risk it if you have any doubts after looking at it and deciding to buy. Know that hiring vehicle transportation is affordable for that distance.
