Have a non-turbo 900--trying to figure out weird cranking. Car seems to run normally once started. Most of the time, it starts up really fast---1-2 seconds. Then once out of about 4 or 5 starts in a day it takes a long time to turn over---8-10 seconds. Completely random--the long start never happens on the first start of the day. Here's what I've done in attempt to diagnose...
Replaced crank position sensor (that was defective), plug wires, plugs, distributor cap, ignition rotor.
Tested ignition coil---resistance was fine.
Tested coolant temp sensor---passed.
Swapped ignition control module--no difference.
Tested fuel pressure---that was fine, also held pressure.
Tested air mass meter---wire glowed--assume it's fine.
Used noid light tester on fuel injectors---all passed--so safe to assume ECM is communicating properly with injectors.
Have had occasional check engine light come on when cold...pulled codes...
codes were from a lean mixture/also o2 sensor---tested resistance---2.5 ohms--the voltage on the O2 sensor didn't fluctuate. According to Bentley it's supposed to go from .4 to 1 volt. Voltmeter showed .04 volts--I couldn't go below 20 volts on my meter so I wonder if that figure is inaccurate. Open to suggestions. Thanks.
