Fender Removal

I found a rust free parts car in a yard. The fenders are in great shape and would be great for a project. I know I would need a spot weld bit to drill out but has anyone attempted to remove fenders before and what would be involved? Thought it'd be a good idea to get some insight before I commit. This is for a classic 900.
