Wow - I didn't realize they were a dealer. I'm in Canada, but I bought a couple c900 fender trim pieces from them many years ago... used off a parts car... they were great - even painted them as I guess they felt they didn't look great and price was still cheap.

I've mostly done my own bodywork on the cheap... if you can see rust, there is probably more (tip of the iceberg). But, it's not too hard on the cosmetic stuff if it is small to wire wheel off the existing rust/loose paint, clean and POR15 to keep it from spreading. If there's no holes, POR15 makes a filler (also black) that can smooth out the bumps, then sand and repaint. Another trick with POR15 is that if you have a small hole, eg under 1/2", you can soak fiberglass cloth in POR15 and use that to patch the hole. It will set up super hard, bond to the POR15 oaint coating and bonding to the rust. Then use a smooth filler to hide the bumps and sand and paint. This can last really well. Quality finish paint work is the hard part. Large areas are particularly hard and better done by a shop. The prep work is not so bad.

I'm guessing body shops don't want to warranty rust work done on older cars as a general thing? You may need to find someone into restorations...
