Bentley 200 - 5 Note at bottom of page
• "Oil smoke or steam appearing suddenly in the exhaust,
along with low compression pressure in one or more cylinders,
is probably due to a failed cylinder head gasket. Look for bubbles
in the coolant or coolant loss, oil in the radiator, or water
in the oil (that tums the oil an opaque, creamy brown)"
If the compression test readings increase moving away from #1 would still guess head gasket failure at the ring around the cylinder. Bad rings would bring a whole new level of time and cost to the project.
