Saab friends,
I misdiagnosed the problem with the car. I checked again the fluid soaked foam panels and the fluid caught on the rubber floor mat and it is thick like hydraulic fluid, not coolant as I had thought. I pumped the clutch pedal a few times and the tiniest amount of fluid drops to the catch pan and onto my hand. I tried the brake pedal and it's firm.
Questions:
Do you recommend I proceed with the replacement of the heater control valve? It and the core are out of the car. I have the ProParts Batch HD10 ready to go in. The heater control valve pulled from the car is OEM Saab.
Do you recommend I put new o-rings on the Saab OEM valve and put it back into service? Or stay with the ProParts Batch HD10 valve?
The positives of this situation are:
I get to learn why the clutch pedal is leaking fluid and how to fix it. Time to search the forum.
I've enjoyed cleaning up under the dash. Re-foaming the heater core enclosure. Re-foamed the insulation over the pedals.
I learned from my mistake.
I get to spend more time with you all.
Cheers!
David
