Hey all! On my 1992 Turbo Vert, above the windshield there is a plastic/rubber sticker type thing that somehow shrunk or was misapplied under the PO. It's a minor thing but it drives me crazy every time I look at it. I tried removing one of the two ends (where the hooks lock into) to see if I could stuff it back under but but there is very little room so it had to be lay perfectly flat (but 30 years later oddly it will not),

Soooo... My questions are:
1. The applied plastic/rubber strip - is it only decorative or does it serve a real purpose? It looks like there is factory paint under there so if I just rip it off have I done something horrible that cannot be undone?

2. I'm 85% sure it is part #6935142 which is just listed as "protection". Protection from what? Rocks?Low flying geese? From my cabin becoming an aquarium after the next rain storm?

3. Anyone else had this issue and if so what did you do... besides ignore it - the OCD is in high gear ;)
