90+ fuel sending unit --> going in Posted by DET17 [Email] (#1254) [Profile/Gallery] (more from DET17) on Mon, 19 Jun 2023 09:40:35 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
OK, I have confirmed proper function at my instrument cluster using the jumper wire. Both my LOW FUEL light works proper, and also the full fuel gauge.
My original sender was rolling around in pieces in my 91's tank.... and I acquired a 93 tank with an intact assembled (but non-functional)sending unit.
The senders appear to have been a press fit assembly, and/or with a type of adhesive in the center tube. Since there aren't fasteners, I'm going to begin to carefully applying force and see if I can get the end caps out of the stainless sleeve of the housing. Gotta believe I have a broken solder joint, probably that little flat wire where it solders to the center tube.
Those who have BTDT, please advise your suggestions.
Thanks!
