Lost my cabin fan about a month ago ('95 9000 Aero w/ 118K miles). Wouldn't run at all. Dealership quoted me $850 to replace. Last night went to finally remove the speed controller. Removed the electrical connector and it was totally fried. One of the big GA wires had cooked the connector and the plastic 'stop' on the speed controller.

Jumped the two large wires at the connection and the fan ran - so it's the speed controller. Disassemble (and crack the board) the controller. It looks pretty cooked. Re-assemble and re-install to hold everything in place. Driving to work this morning, the fan comes on!!! Well it won't shut off, and I think I smell electrical smoke, so I yank the fuse.

My question - should that much electricity have gone through that thing without blowing the fuse? Should I put a new/used controller in just to have it fry again? Anyone experience this? If I put my multimeter to the power wires, how many amps should be flowing through it?
