Tapani, I've got poly bushings on a few components of my
front and rear suspension. But, I wouldn't replace any other
rubbers without very careful consideration of how things interrelate
on the suspension. As 2Slow has mentioned, suspension engineers are not stupid. They know which parts are supposed
to deflect under load, and the rates of deflection in planar and axial
directions. His concern is that poly bushings are very stiff in all
directions and when one starts changing all the bushings to poly,
then the suspension loses a compliant degree of freedom. He
likes the 9000 suspension because of this built-in compliance and
cites the 9000 as being great in the snow because the effects
under braking remain at understeer, unlike the 9-5 which tends
toward oversteer. So, unless you're a real good driver (which most
Saab drivers are!) and you know the interrelation between all
the differing suspension parts and their bushings, I would argue
against blindly swapping out simple stiff bushings for highly tuned
ones!
