Possibly.. I've seen more than a few that have sheared;-) also check Shock mounts (top) and balljoints, sway bar bushings A Arm bushings. There are LOTS of reasons for this, and all have been known to fail for unlikely reason. Check everything, it will be obvious when you actually get in there and look carefully.
