We've been hearing this same question on TSN since 1988. Of course, older Saabers (or younger ones with older Saabs) heard that the last of the true Saabs was before Saab started using a Ford V4 in their cars! Can you imagine the outrage when way back when Saabers heard that the engine in a Saab was going to be made by Ford? "It's the last of the true Saabs." That cry rang out. But now who would stand up in a room full of Saabers and say that the Sonett or a Saab 96 V4 isn't a true Saab. It is ludicrous. Just as ludicrous as you standing there amidst a group of Saabers telling me that my 1999 9-3 Turbo isn't a true Saab. I must certainly doubt that you've driven one because it reminds me more of my 1983 900 Turbo, which I consider a true Saab, than any 9000 I've ever driven... That said, I won the 1999 Saab Owner's Convention in a 9000 Aero. That was one sweet Saab. Another true Saab in my opinion.
