Yeah, I think you are right it does seem to be some kind of hybrid setup!

The car does have a Catalytic Converter, although it is getting rather tired now, the car has done 202K miles, but it still runs like a dream. I am planning on spending some money on it to do a couple of improvements. i.e. Front lower Engine Mount, rear control arm bushes, rear brake flexi's and thinking of fitting a stainless exhaust.

It is a UK car registered 1990, it was one of the first 9000's over here with a DI unit. It is annoying really as it would be great to be able to access fault codes and adjust the mixture accurately myself, but I seem to be struggling at present.

I connected the scope last night to what I thought was the test point (the only one measuring around 5V), however, I could not get a clear signal to measure a duty cycle. The signal seemed very noisy, I wondered if I was using the scope correctly or maybe need a probe with some sort of filter. What is the sort of time period is the signal if you can measure it - I could not find anything in the Saab web pages.

I will try reducing the resistance and do some trial and error to try and get the mixture correct. She used to average around 29.0 mpg.

Spark plugs are new, there are no vacuum leaks - I just had a torrid time locating a hose that had come off the intercooler recently, so I have been through and checeked all pipe work, I have also checked the fuel pressure in the line recently, it did not seem too high.

I would not say it is running extra rich, just that the average mpg seemed to drop to around 23.0 - unforunately no exhaust gas analyser.
