Look at it this way as Noel said, what would payments on a newer car be. You either pay in spurts and I would think in general less to repair a really fun and useful car or you pay each month the same amount for a lesser car. It is a car that puts down some decent power and most of them now have 100,000 miles on them. You are not driving a light weight low power (read stock model up to ex) honda here. Personally I have driven the piss outta my car for 100,000 miles and I could only assume stuff would break. If you really want it to last forever a good suggestion would be to add an electronic boost control and just turn down the boost to base boost for most driving days. I think a 600 dollar investment of this nature might save you $1000 or more down the road. I don't think that anyone wants to go backwards in power though so this is the price we pay :).
