yeah, go ahead and do it. i converted my wife's 93 manual to a autobox because she drives almost exclusively on local roads and in city traffic. it was a straightforward mechanical swap that, with access to a helpful junkyard, was a lot of fun. just make sure that you have access to the electrical wiring workbook for your year and note the following:
(1)you will need an additional pedal switch for the clutch pedal (it's the one that disconnects cruise control when you depress the clutch)
(2) install a bypass wire in place of the soon to be missing shift lever interlock (easy)
(3) the edu readout in the center of the instrument cluster will have to be swapped with one from a manual trans car.
(4) remember that the reverse light switch is now in the transmission instead of in the auto shift lever mechanism.
