As far as I know, all the Saabs in recent times (since the 80's, or even before that) have been 50 state cars.

I recently purchased a car ('93 9000 Aero) from outside of California and had no problem in having it pass California emissions.

Saabs have a reputation for being one of the cleanest burning cars. Mine had hydrocarbon and carbon monoxide readings that were the lowest non-zero values that the instruments could read. . . (you probably couldn't even pass-out by sucking on the exhaust!)

As long as the plugs are firing and the catalytic converter isn't shot, it should have no problems, even in Berkeley, where emissions tests are more strict than where I live.

I remember reading in the mid-90's that a Saab's engine, if it was breathing clean air, had cleaner exhaust that the air typically found in London.

I wouldn't worry about yours.
