I've been posting about my 91 9000S for a while now, and thought I'd put out another update.

Incidentally, let me also put out another huge positive comment about Eriksson Industries. They say on their website "no job too small," and they've certainly held that true for me. I've called several times to get some advice about how to proceed next, and Nat has always been helpful, giving me something to come home and try/test to help diagnose the problem. I'll definitely get whatever part I need from them in the end, because their customer service has been excellent (something found very rarely lately, IMHO)!

I've been trying to test governor pressure. Made my own governor pressure tester gauge (thanks BobS!!) for $15 from Lowe's. Actually, a lot of fun, but disappointing when I got NO READING WHATSOEVER!! Nat says to check the "tubes" that supply the pressure to the port where I'm taking the reading. These "tubes" run right underneath the valve body cover, and may be out of place or have some sort of debris in them. Guess what I'm doing tonight?

This whole process has been hugely educational about how my AT works, as well as how important it is to keep fluids clean. When you realize how small the channels are that the fluid goes through (which determines shift points), you'll be sure to flush your fluid every year.
