Even if you knew the exact amount of 134a, the number is only useful if you know the system to be empty or could somehow know how much is left inside. Try this: Look at the sight glass to see if there's any flow. With this gas you ALWAYS get bubbles if there's any refrigerant in the system. Once having established that the system is pumping, begin adding gas while feeling the vent air. As soon as it gets cold, stop adding. If you keep adding, the temperature will actually begin to rise again as the system goes from correctly charged to overcharged. Then begin slowly bleeding gas until you get that previous temperature "back". You can also note the temperature drop by holding a hand on the low pressure line where it goes into the evaporator. This is even more accurate as it gets cold there FIRST.

Just another note: if it EVER cools properly, you probably don't need gas. It's like worn rings or worn out tires - - the problem doesn't come and go. (As opposed to an electrical problem which can be intermittant.)
