Maybe there are some factors specific to YOUR daughter?

As in, are there items that she would need to transport on a regular basis?

For instance, if she played the tuba or string bass or something, then a 9k makes a ton of sense. I played the trombone in high school, and it never "quite" fit into the trunk of our cars...

I've never been in a NG900, but the driving position may be better suited in one car or the other depending on her height.

Will she have any input into the decision? Not necessarily to let her decide, but to hear WHY she would choose one over the other could be enlightening :-)

Is she going to have lots of passengers? Again, more people and more stuff always (to me) points to the 9k.

Congrats on having your daughter pay half of her insurance--making them responsible for the finances of a car definitely teaches one how expensive cars can be. What about gas, repairs, and your "sweat equity" (i.e. Daddy, when will my car be fixed?)? My parents didn't pay for my insurance at all, so it was 18 before I even got my license, and 24 before I had a car of my own (1989 900S).

I'm just plain curious on this one, as my wife and I will be having a baby this coming weekend (we'll find out if we need to use Joshua or Reagan sometime after 5pm on Sunday).

Good luck with your search, and if there is anything in South Central PA you need someone to check out, send me an email--I'll help if I can.
