If its an in-dash, I didn't even know that they used cartridges in the older models. The newer ones don't, but I'm not sure that they'd connect up with your headunit.

If you're talking about the changer, yes you can get a newer one, but they still use a magazine (or cartridge)...The new one is the Clarion CD-625. You don't really need the cage for them..I belive the old Saab cage is too big for the 625 anyways.
