Hello,
I've read through the archived posts and the many people who say this isn't a good idea. My plan would be to swap the turbo engine from a '94 CSE auto into my '94 CS manual. Please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that I would have to swap over the following items:
1. Engine with turbo
2. Intercooler, oil cooler
3. BPC and ECU
4. Exhaust system
There are several reasons why I would choose to do this rather than buy another car. My car is in good shape, but will need a 200,000 mile tuneup (suspension rebuild, shocks, motor mounts). I have replaced most of the important components on it during the past year. The CSE is an automatic and it's ugly. The exhaust system difference would give me the opportunity to upgrade to a big downpipe and full 3" exhaust. Moreover, I'd have the n/a transmission with its low ratios, so the car would go like hell off the line.
Is there any reason this wouldn't work? Would the transmission from my car not bolt up to the CSE engine? Are the wiring harnesses different?
