You're lucky you have the old coupler, the new one is a pain. My 91 has a much more solid feel than my 95, even with a brand new coupler. The new design is crap... I don't know what they were thinkin.
I'm pretty sure the Haynes manual goes through changing the drive flange. While you're in there, you might want to change the seals. That part of my tranny doesn't see much air, I don't know about yours :)
