You might be thinking Air Mass Meter - those were phased out. The Trionic on the later years used a MAP (Manifold absolute pressure) sensor AND an intake air temperature sensor to determine air mass. Since your '97 is OBDII, any OBDII reader can clear it. If you don't own one, most autoparts stores (not in California) will lend you one. Of course, visually check the sensor. If it comes back after clearing it, you might very well have a bad sensor. They do fail.
