- It seems to be a "needy" or "attention-seeking" car in need of much attention/routine maintenance
- The heater core goes out too early and is very difficult to replace (they should have built that part to last longer)
- The serp belt is 400% harder to change than on most modern cars
- The engine vibrates more than I think it should (even after getting both balance shafts working in mine)
- The factory used loc-tite on the CV shaft ends and still torqued the nut to 9000 pounds to match the model of car
- The DI cassette dies without warning (at least on the 9-5 you get a code early)
- The o-ring as a seal for the oil pump (I've not heard of too many people having to replace the oil-pump gears)
- To change the oil pan gasket in the car, you need to kill a rooster and sprinkle pixie dust on the top of the car (I just pulled the engine instead)
This site makes up for all of those short comings as I'm still driving these 9Ks since 1989 (I'm on my 7th).....either that or I'm VERY stubborn and refuse to allow a car to beat me.
