Hi fellow Saabers. Am I too unreasonable to think that if I bought a brand new part from a well respected Saab supplier and kept it till I needed it (years), that part should still be in new condition whenever it was time to install it. This will make 2 weekends in a row I've removed parts from the box/bags which were purchased brand new to find that they were completely useless to install because the rubber had deteriorated to render the parts useless. 1st, it was a shift coupler, rubber split while the metal looked brand new. 2nd, some poly torque arm mounts (black ones), crumbling in my hands as I tried to install them. The items were kept in my garage in FL, still in the packaged and box they came in. I called about the shift coupler out of pure frustration, they 'probably' would have sent me a new 1 but allegedly had none in stock or could source a new 1, I've since purchased a new 1 from elsewhere. I won't even call on the mounts. I now have no faith in the motor & transmission mounts purchased the same time.
Just looking for your opinions. Am I too unreasonable?..frustrated parts stasher.
