Jack the rear up and support the car on jack stands. Remove the top bolt on shock absorber. In the wheel well, pull the shock down, thereby compressing it. Use a piece of wood or something to prevent the shock from expanding back into the hole. Now, using a floor jack, lift only the hub until the shock is completely compressed. If yours is already at max, there's only one direction the shock will turn. Whatever the case, turn it the number of desired turns. I've found that these shocks practically never soften after hundreds of thousands of miles of spirited driving. The middle setting works for me.
