Direct ignition cassette question... Posted by Goblin [Email] (#2224) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Goblin) on Wed, 19 Jan 2022 14:52:29 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
So I took the direct ignition cassette off, one of the black boots is cracked about 3 inches. Is this the beginning of the end of this direct ignition cassette or can I just glue that plastic boot back together. This DIC only has maybe 20,000 miles on it. I'm getting no check engine light. Car seems to be running normal after it's warm. It has been having a weird hesitation when the car goes from vacuum to boost. It's really in that narrow window of vacuum to boost that it has what I would call a stutter but it's only for a split second and once I'm probably at one or two pounds of boost everything seems normal. I'm going to assume the DIC is on its way out. The first DIC only went about 17,000 mi before it crapped out. I am running a lot of boost and a lot of power I'm guessing this is my normal routine for dic's. I am going to go ahead and glue back the plastic piece and we'll see what happens. Any insight would be great.
