Starter motor could be getting tired..

Here in good ol Australia, We hyave problems with starter motors in the hot weather. As the starter ages, The brushes start to wear out.
The starter Solenoid needs to see a Ground through the Armature in order to engage. There are 2 Coils in the Solenoid. (1) The Pull in Winding, and (2) the Hold in Winding.
When the Starter motor is at rest the solenoid sees a ground through the Brushes through the Armature. Sometimes when the Brushes are worn so much they tend to make poor contact, Especially when hot, Then the solenoid may not engage. When the Starter motor cools down a bit, The contact is restored and then the Starter comes to life.
I have had problems with the Pull in Winding going open circuit when hot and then comes good when cold.
I am not saying this is definately your problem, But it's worth a look at.
