I have a 1996 Saab 9000 CS with hatchback which had the stock Clarion radio/cassette. I made my first attempt at installation of a new Blaupunkt receiver/CD head unit. Although I purchased from Crutchfield I was not able to use the included wiring harness as I could not locate the connection so I proceeded to hardwire the radio connections to the Saab wiring (customer service not much help or I was asking the wrong questions). First attempt I had power but no sound. I had ignored the yellow wire that is in the speaker wire grouping as it did not appear to have a mate in the radio wiring. The no sound problem was solved (somewhat) by connecting the yellow wire to the antenna wire (which I am guessing provided power to something which allowed the speakers to work).

First question is is there an amplifier or something similar which I did not account for and (bigger problem) now I have some serious background hissing from the speakers and all radio reception seems to have degraded.

Also through all of this I discovered that one of the rear speakers is not working. Can anyone provide choice for replacement and instructions on R and R as it does not appear obvious to me how you get the grill off to gain access to the speakers.
