Just had the same thing fixed on my '95 9k CSE - vibration cutting in at about 3k rpm. Took car to dealer and they wouldn't let me drive it away until they had fixed it; I had to catch the train home!!
Turned out to be worn sprockets on the balance chain and it had slipped out of phase. Having read the various posts about worn balance chains and how they can get wrapped around the timing chain - looks like I was lucky (especially as the car is just inside its 2 year extended used SAAB warranty).
Just wondering whether I should change the car before the warranty runs out in a cople of months. I paid GBP350 for the second year warranty - its already cost the warrnty company around GBP1500 - the a/c also went horribly wrong.
I like the car - but couldn't face a huge bill out of warranty - maybe everything that will go wrong, has gone wrong for the time being?
