I'm throwing-out my 225's and setting-up my Viggen with 4 donut spare tires. Or maybe I'll just leave my 205 snow tires on all year long. They're cheaper than the 225's and since, as you stated, wider tires offer no performance benefit, then this new setup must be the way to go. I'm sure those professional racing teams in F1, CART, IRL, NASCAR, WRC, BTCC, F3000, ALMS, NHRA have it all wrong riding on those money-wasting wide tires. We're sure to see them changing-over to narrow tires soon. Heck, even the auto manufacturers must be wasting our money on those wide tires on their performance cars. Why has our beloved manufacturer Saab contribute to this fraud by putting wasteful 215's on the Viggen in the first place? Why not stick to the same 205's available on the SE? Or better yet, why not just put 185's on since, as you claim, there's no performance gain with the wider tires.
Yup, we're all just throwing money out the window 'cause we've bought into a big fat tire industry-induced lie. We've been brainwashed to believe that wider tires handle better. Maybe every automobile performance review ever written has been part of a conspiracy plot to get us to believe that wider tires actually perform better. Shame on the tire industry for even OFFERING us larger tire sizes. Maybe we can get congress to investigate them and their evil, misleading sales practices.
Thanks for saving me lots of money and for convincing me that narrow tires are better than wide tires. I thank you. My Viggen thanks you. My wallet thanks you.
